Maria Howard Van Der Laarse

Maria Howard Van Der Laarse, 93 years old passed away peacefully at Douglas Memorial Hospital. Beloved mother to John ( Diane) and Peggy ( David ) Randall. Grandmother to 6 girls and their partners as well as Oma to 12 Great-grandchildren.

Mom lived at home until a month ago before a short illness. She never missed a thing, always curious. She had a great love for music as well as her soap operas, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.

Finally she has no pain. At mom's request there will be no service and cremation has taken place.

Our family would like to thank all of the kindness and visits that made her last days so special. No matter how old we are, we never quite prepare for the loss of a parent.
